## What Luna Is

Luna is a private, offline-first menstrual health and period tracking app. It is designed around a core principle: your reproductive health data belongs only to you. By default, your history stays strictly on your physical phone with zero server uploads. For practical safety copies and phone moves, Device Transfer Mode exports an encrypted .lbk file you can store somewhere you control. For your most sensitive archives, Private Vault Mode seals that backup behind your private 12-word recovery phrase.

Luna predicts the next period date, fertile window, and ovulation using a local algorithm (CycleEngine) that runs entirely on-device with no network call. No account is required to use the app.

## How Prediction Works

Luna uses the last 6 cycles maximum to calculate an adaptive average cycle length. It derives a confidence score from standard deviation across cycles (HIGH/MEDIUM/LOW/INSUFFICIENT). All computation runs on-device in milliseconds; no server round-trip occurs.
